Individual Projects

Here you will find examples of individual projects I have worked on over the years.

The Blood Countess

The Blood Countess

"The Blood Countess" is a single player quest for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that the player can complete at any point during their adventure. A small girl at Riverwood Bridge asks the Dragonborn to investigate her village named Drakkenheim where children have disappeared. As the player investigates the fate of the missing children they learn of a mysterious Countess named Elizabeth Bathory who has opened a school in her castle that overlooks the village. Gameplay centers on the investigation, which the player conducts through dialogue and the obtainment of items to infiltrate Bathory's castle. The climax is a final battle with the Blood Countess which changes depending upon whether or not players have decided to complete the side quest. I worked approximately 126 hours on this quest.

Ice World

Ice World

“Ice World” is a multiplayer Capture the Flag map for Unreal Tournament III, which takes place on the frozen planet of Phrygia. Two factions, a human mining colony and a newly arrived alien race known as the Andredi, battle each other for the resources necessary to survive the unforgiving arctic environment. Players battle the elements and each other as they seek to capture the other team’s flag and return it to their base.

Bringing Down The House

Bringing Down The House

“Bringing Down the House” is a single player level for Crytek’s Crysis 2 which balances opportunities for stealth gameplay early on with gun blazing action near then end. The level takes place at night in a sophisticated apartment building in midst of a major storm tearing through downtown New York. The military has discovered an alien base of operations underneath the high rise. The C.E.L.L. sent in a team of soldiers to set up explosives in the lobby and bring the building crashing down on the aliens below. Unfortunately, the Ceph became aware of the human incursion and drove the assault team out of the lobby before they could arm the explosives. Despite both humans and aliens hunting him, Alcatraz determines this is an irresistible target of opportunity. Armed with his nanosuit, he infiltrates the building with the intention of securing the detonators, arming the explosives, and bringing down the building on his own.

Enemy Of My Enemy

Enemy Of My Enemy

“Enemy of My Enemy” is a single player level for Crytek’s Crysis 2 that offers intense, cover based combat in office and laboratory settings and provides players the opportunity to unleash the Ceph to help combat their C.E.L.L. enemies. As the level begins, Alcatraz infiltrates Hargreave Rasch Biomedical with the intention of freeing the Ceph in order to prevent Hargreave Rasch from creating their own alien army through mind control experiments. Cornered, with few options, Alcatraz unleashes the alien prisoners on their captors, putting an end to Hargreave’s plans and leveraging the resulting chaos to cover his escape. In total this was a six week project with a total of approximately 146 hours worked.

Topsy-Turvy

Topsy-Turvy

“Topsy-Turvy” is a single player level for Valve Software’s Half-Life 2 that turns traditional Half-Life combat and platforming on its head. The level takes place in Black Mesa East after the Combine have invaded and begun eliminating the resistance fighters and scientists inside. Players take control of Gordon Freeman as he uses his new upgraded suit to reverse gravity, walk on the ceiling, engage enemies, and overcome platforming challenges in interesting and unique scenarios. Gordon must accomplish a series of tasks to launch the missile, open the doors to the silo, and escape the base. In total, this was a five-week project with a total of approximately 140 hours worked.

Hello_World

Hello_World

“System Boot” is a single player level for the original 3-D platform game Hello_World built using Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. The level presents the player with a series of challenges designed to teach them the core mechanics of the game including hacking, slowing their descent using jump jets, utilizing fans for boost, and overclocking the A.I.’s processor to slow the world around her. As the level begins, E1-13 also known as “Ellie” boots up. A scientist named Dr. Cearn claims to be her creator and explains that she is the first of her kind, a fully self-aware artificial intelligence. He warns her that because she is different, she is in danger and must escape from Hephaes-Tech. Scared, confused, and alone Ellie obeys the voice in her head as the doctor guides Ellie safely through the treacherous journey.

Uncharted: Durga's Judgement
(Special Project)

Picture
Uncharted: Durga's Judgement

Durga’s Judgment is a single player level that serves as downloadable content (DLC) for Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. In this hypothetical DLC, Nathan Drake has uncovered an ancient Cambodian legend that tells of an artifact, the Durga’s Eye, which allowed its bearer to look into the future. Drake does not believe the supernatural aspects of the legend, but he believes very much in the fortune the Eye could bring him on the open market. With this goal in mind, he sets off into the mountains of Cambodia to discover Durga’s Temple.

Unfortunately, Drake was unaware that there are other interested parties, and the race for the Eye is on.
